Read the link above. Cebu is now a prime city for the Bench and the Prosecution Service in terms of monthly allowances. Judges receive 35,000 Pesos/month. Prosecutors, 12,000 Pesos/month. Now, the Public Attorneys are jealous and are making noise. Next, I suppose, the other lowly pillars of the local justice system will join the money fray. all for the lure of the gold offered by the local politicians. I find it immoral and distasteful. Sooner or later, the entire justice system will be at the mercy of the rich local government units and their partisans and operators. Mark my word. It may take one or two generations but it will surely happen. Unless we stop this insanity and greed and find a better and wise system of funding the judicial and prosecution compensation tables.
